The Most Serene Republic of GastoniaVI is a tiny, devout nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The large, moralistic government is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Religion & Spirituality and Defence are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 27%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is dominated by the Pizza Delivery industry.
Crime is moderate. GastoniaVI's national animal is the veal pattie, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the dollar.
