grumpy, google, msgsrv32.exe and do some research. there are a # of MS KB articles that come up involving that .exe. for example: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306616 - It revolves around ACPI and older computer's lack of support for it. of course, aarchaon's solution is the best one, esp. if you had xp working on it before, but if you don't have an extra copy handy, that's obviously not going to work for you...GOOD LUCK!!!
