I think that's pretty shameful that you think that all fat people just don't care about their looks. Many women have problems with their weight because of diseases- in these days, hormonal (estrogen) diseases that make you blow up run rampant.
But on another note, it is true that in the whole marketing scheme, a hiring manager thinks about what common consumers think- "I don't want to look like that person so I better not buy that shirt/drink/food."
