I would never rent an apartment without Renters Insurance from a company like Allstate or State Farm. Esp. in CA. where so many fires happen every summer, or so it seems. Been there, done that - it's so traumatic - you can't imagine, but at least we had that insurance.
PS- Never use Weber gas grills. Stick with charcoal.
