I was much younger when I first heard the words to Margaritaville. I thought he was saying:
"Put on my flip-flops. Stepped on a pop-tart."
then later
"Wasting away again in Margaritaville. Looking for my lost chigger and saw." (Whatever a "chigger" is, but that's what I sang.)
