Only once or twice a year, due to severe wind storms north of us..
The spooky one was on new years eve 2000---everyone was predicting the power would fail due poor programming in the power companys....
well it did not go out at 12 midnight....it went out at 12:05....a whole strip of the valley along the Rio Grande, from Brownsville to 50 miles west......
some ass hat shot his 9mm in the air and cut a high voltage trasmission line....
it was very dark and very quiet for 1 and a half hours....then they started shooting in the air again at 1:30 in the morning....
