So I got a P4 processor in......

And I love it! It's a 3.2 GHz, with 1MB L2 cache, and an ASUS P4C800-E mobo to run everything. I think it's a very nice upgrade from my Athlon xp 2400, runs much faster. The board came with built in firewire, which I didn't realize until after I got it, so I guess that was an added bonus.

After I got everything set up and running, I decided to see how it would handle overclocking, and this board incorporates "smart" overclocking, meaning I just tell it how much I want (5, 10, 15%, etc.) and it does it automatically. I am still able to overclock in manually, but this makes it a little easier.

The weird part: I overclocked it 5%, so the processor is running at a very stable 3.36 GHz. I tried then to return it to normal speed in the bios, but it wouldn't accept it, it kept telling me "overclock failed!". I returned it to a 5% overclock, and the system runs perfectly. I don't get it . Not that I mind, but I'm just wondering now why it won't accept its normal speed...
