No, it's just a fact. There are exceptions of course, but they usually happen after said band has already been around for quite some time, hence; The Rolling Stones, The Velvet Underground, Jonathan Richmond and the Modern Lovers, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, Built to Spill, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Tom Waits, Elliot Smith, and too many more to list...
