ok so i figured it out and it's really dumb...
basically, i moved all the stuff over, right? which included the HSF which i removed from the CPU (thus basically unstickin the thermal tape/paste)
i checked the temp and it was WAY high...so i went and got some thermal paste and slapped it on and voila, machine works again
/le sigh, so simple
