This thing just screams urban legend. "My friend's mother's friend"? What the hell is that. You might as well have said my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard it from this guy who knew this kid.
And a newspaper article doesn't necessarily prove it. Small town newspapers print all sorts of shit.
