An Aussie girl I know told me that the Aussies got a bit of a chuckle out of Canada's olympic team parading around with "Roots" written on their outfits.
Apparently in Oz, "root" is a slang term for sexual intercourse.
Sort of like, "He threw a root into her"
Or something like that.
Sort of like in Quebec, Lacrosse is a slang term for masturbation.
Just thought I would share that little gem.
