Ghostly impressions?
I read an interesting theory once (I can't remember where sorry but I will point out that it's not my own), thought I'd throw it out there to see what everybody thought.
On 'seeing' ghosts:
the theory went along the lines that because everyone posesses an electromagnetic field (henceforth 'EMF'), the field can be impressed on it's environment, if the environment's EMF is weaker than the persons. The example used was this:
A young man is relaxing in the sun by a spring, and suddenly he spots a lovely young girl bathing herself. Naturally, he is suddenly quite excited and it stimulates his EMF to become stronger (in a way which reflects his feelings) and this new, stronger EMF creates an impression locally on the environment's EMF.
A few days later, another chap happens to sit down in the same spot, and perhaps he's a little tired or something, because his EMF is weaker than the environment's. Because the 'impression' of the randy young man's field is still there, the tired man picks up on this and subconsciously interprets it as the vision of a vague and 'ghostly' young girl in the spring, and hence, sees the ghost of the girl.
Sorry it's a bit of a cumbersome explanation. Also the terms 'weaker' and 'stronger' are used in the loosest sense, to approximate what I'm trying to say here.
I think this could go someway to explain apparitions, especially of dead people. Say a child of a family dies, that whole family feels terrible grief for that loss, which is a very powerful emotion and would leave these impressions all over the house. This could be reinterpreted later on, or interpreted by say, a new family moving into the house as the vision, voice, or any component of the family's 'memory' of the dead child.
What are your thoughts?
