Actually, that's what I thought. But it turns out to be much more self-serving that that. Both James Hetfield and Mick Jagger are alcoholics who no longer drink.
I'd heard that about Clarence Gatemouth Brown. He played in New Orleans and forced the bar where he played to turn all the TVs off there, too.
