Depending on how involved you want to get, you could even have the bandwidth pay for itself by running your own small hosting service. Allow two or three other sites on your box/bandwidth and charge them $50-$100/mo to help offset your cost of hardware and bandwidth. Plus, to top it all off, the downstream pipe is gravy! You get the huge download pipe almost exclusively for your own use!

So far, no cable providers I have spoken to do that here. Comcast and Wide Open West in my area both offer 512 or less (still waiting to hear back from Wide Open West on prices). I tried SpeakEasy dsl, since they had a 6000/768 connection with 8 statics and they allow you to run whatever you want. Unfortunitly, I am 11k feet from the DSLAM and for whatever reason can only guarentee me 1500/768 for $100 a month. A bit costly when (since posting this thread) I can get a "reseller" package for $30/mo for 10 domains, 2gig hd, 20gigs transfer per month.
As for becoming a host, I'd LOVE to, but the reality of it is you need office space with redundant power and most customers would want close to 95+% uptime which requires 2 pipes. Then you have machinery and you have to go leagal on software, and in my case, that software is MS Windows and SQL Server. Neither are cheap. If people find out you are running it in your laundry room with a cable connection, they might get miffed
