One night I tried to suprise my wife with lit candles, rosepetals on the bed (a "few" whole roses too) and "Bed of roses" (Bon Jovi) on the stereo.
My plan was
1. Suprise her
2. ....do I really need to explain this??
3. Fall asleep exhausted
I waited.....
...and waited...
...and waited...
at last she came home - exhausted. She went allmost straight to bed - and fell asleep...
She felt really bad about it - but there were some major trouble at work and she was allready weared out by her cold.
So good luck - it's very romantic, but be prepared for a different outcome
