Yes. one of the best ever. It's one of the few movies I've purchased on DVD. And Yes Speed_Gibson, it is the one with Val Kilmer as a bank robber, but I think he was also some sort of robber in some movie with Kim Basinger many years ago. She was an ex-con or something like that. I can't think of the name of the movie, but that is not Heat.
The bank shootout scene is one of the best ever, true, but I really liked the opening bank truck robbery. It was a really great way to introduce the characters, and a great way to wrap the audience right into the story. I felt like I knew what was going on right from the beginning.
Are you guys aware that there is/was a theory that DeNiro and Pacino were never actually on camera at the same time? I've lost track of the sites, but someone out there on the interweb has theorized that they refused to share the stage, so they had to film the scenes the two shared with doubles. Its why you never actually see both their faces at the same time in the famous "coffee house chat" scene. Interesting. I'll have to look up those sites again...
