Well, it used to be that only gentlrmen wore ties (dinner bibs) to distinguish themselves from the non-mannered lower classes. Now everyone can afford to wear the damn things so it is harder and harder to tell who has class and who is just riff raff.
All joking aside I think even the wealthier classes separate themselves into new money and old money.
