Can anyone please help?

I have one wall in my living room that is conpletely decorated (covered) with stained hardwood. Anyway, I would like to set up my tv, vcr etc.. in front of this wall. I don't want to use a traditional entertainment center because it will hide the wall. I would like to try to utilize some sort of clear shelving that will be strong enough to hold a 29" television. I would like to mount the shelving to the wall for a tv, a dvd player, a cable box, a vcr, and various dvd's and video tapes.

I have no experience with this sort of work, and would greatly appreciate any advice given.

some of the things I need to know are:

What type of clear material could be used.
How to cut and/ or polish (finish) the material
How to mount the material (bolts, cables etc..)

and any other part of the process I may need to know.
