Already the call for Geiger has started up here in the North Eastern part of the state. People are saying Geiger is handling this as badly as Clarett, that if the accusations were totally false, Geiger should have just come out and said, "This young man is just a disgruntled ex-student, the accusations he is throwing have no merit and as they are hurting our good name and reputation we are seeking legal action for slander." End statement, no questions taken from the press.

Instead Geiger is commencing with name calling back. Doesn't show class.

PS: I am an OSU fan, I know the rules, I know the campus, the area, the history and the tradition. I know that one reason John Cooper was hated (besides never beating Michigan) was the fact he was the first and only coach to not have any Ohio or OSU ties in any way. I also know that Woody Hayes was the man who put OSU footbal on the map, and he was often hated by the the faculty and trustees for doing so.

I do take offense when people say fans of a certain team are just "drones" or "that they have no idea why they root for the team"... etc. You can apply that to ANY team, political party, celebrity, tv show, whatever. It's wrong to do, not only hypocritical in most cases but prejudicial and self-righteous.

Now to say a team has bad fans because of their actions (i.e. fighting, rioting, running out onto the field.... etc) is still biased because you only see the handful, but you can make a solid case over it all when the actions have happened numerous times.

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"
