I don't trust a word of what Maurice Clarett says. The kid is not good news, and I have no idea how this would "clear his name." Not only did he say that he took money from people he shouldn't have, he admitted that he didn't do his schoolwork. Then, he claimed to be "blackballed" by OSU when they didn't do his homework for him.
The only reputable source told ESPN that his advisers put him in useless classes that did not apply to his major. This occurs quite frequently (although it is slightly against the rules), and it is up to the athlete to take the classes needed for a degree.
If those allegations turn out to be true, it would be sad for the decent people who are associated with Ohio State, because they worked hard to earn a national championship. I got tired of them winning by a tenth of a point every week, but I don't hate them like some people seem to.
