When I worked for the Army, I had to have a physical type exam once, and they found I was starting to get a bit of hearing loss in the upper frequencies. So they gave me a set of official Army issue earplugs, which I still wear to almost every concert I go to now. The killer is that for a long time I listened to headphones, really pretty loud, and that's probably worse than the occasional concert.
