Just make sure it's a female cat.
The male cats tend to not care less about mice as long as they are fed. That mouse could run right across the nose of a dozing male cat and he won't even twitch a wisker.
A female cat will go nuts till she kills that mouse.
It' s kind of like those mutual of Ohama shows that show the male lions just sunning themselves while the females go out and do the hunting.
