I use those yellow basic 'ear' muffs. The orange ones are so big they reach my brain. But in rehearsals I like to really hear what the fook I'm doin' , so I use personal monitoring and ehmmm... turn it so loud it beats the noise coming through those mini-earplugs... So I think rehearsing and on stage I suffer higher noise levels as I would without anything in my ears. And I hate myself for making myself deaf, but haven't found a solution yet. Custom made stuff is on my shopping list as well as OM 5 Mic of Audix, to reduce stage noise.. And I know I'm in for a lecture next time I'll have my hearing checked. Auutss!!
