Ok guys, here's the official details of my guild. Anyone who is interested, feel free to reply with questions or comments.
The guild's name: Heroes of the Universe
Name analysis: The name is supposed to be anti-serious. We're tired of all these "Knights of Honor" and "Divine Divinity" and "Brotherhood of Steel" shits. So we have two choices: Go completely non-serious or go ironically non-serious. We chose Heroes of the Universe because it is the most outrageous guild name you can have when it comes to this genre of games. We aren't only Heroes of the area. We aren't Heroes of only Azeroth and Kalimdor. We aren't even Heroes of the entire planet. We're Heroes of the entire fucking Universe!
Server status: East Coast PVP, Server name unknown until retail
The mission of the guild: To become one of the biggest (if not the biggest) guild on our server. To vanquish the opposing Horde faction(s) within reasonable limits (we're not going to newb-slaughter or anything, unless they attack first).
The reason of us starting a guild? Myself, along with Lasereth and BltzkriegMcCanon, have considerable experience with playing the game. We know how to level up incredibly fast (if you're into that sort of thing), make money really fast, and most of all, we can PvP (Lasereth anyway to a freakish extent). We want to spread the word of our ways, while maintaining a guild and letting it grow to epidemic....well not epidemic proportions, but definitely outrageous. We are, after all, the Heroes of the Universe. That's no easy task, therefore we'll need as many members as possible.
Guidelines:
1. No ignorance allowed.
2. No assholes allowed (you know who you are).
3. No dishonorable players (don't attack people who are more than 10 levels below you, unless they attack first).
4. You will pay a fee of 1 Gold per day to Me, Lasereth, or BltzkriegMcCanon. Just kidding.
5. Try to help out your fellow guildmates as much as possible. This isn't *required,* but recommended. Lasereth over there has 37 pieces of flair. Don't you want to express yourself? This doesn't mean Power Leveling or anything, just answering questions in the guild channel or helping a member being attacked by another guild. Stuff like that.
6. Superiority is NOT based on your level. It is based on maturity.
7. No trash-talking or name-calling or any of that crap. If you get in an argument, that's fine, but don't start insulting other people with personal attacks.
8. AOL chat is acceptable, but don't over-do it. Example: r u a newb? can i hav sum gold plz?kkkkkkkk? We want to minimize this. Sort of like at TFP. The standard chat protocols in our culture are acceptable such as LOL, ROFL, LMAO, etc., but try to use them correctly. Also try not to overuse them (i.e. saying LOL after every sentence).
9. We understand if you consider English a second language for you, but try to keep understandable sentences part of your repitoire.
10. There is no minimum level requirement or specific race or class. We are an Alliance guild, however, so Horde players can't join.
11. Try your best (at opportune times only) to recruit new members. If someone seems like a good player, ask them if they want to be in a guild (ours) devoted to being the Heroes of the entire Universe. Don't pester anyone though about it. DO NOT recruit people who violate these guidelines.
These guidelines will be updated at our website (which will be up shortly).
This thread will be updated with information on what server we'll be playing on once the game goes Retail.
If you're interested in our guild, reply. Try to get into the Open Beta which is coming up very soon to get a taste of the game and get some experience in.
Ask not what your guild can do for you, ask what you can do for your guild!
We won't make you call the "officers" by "sir" or anything like that. That's just stupid. The only "power" we have over you is whether or not you stay in the guild. As soon as the guild is strengthened, we *may* divide the guild into "companies" or "platoons" for PvP and Raid purposes. Nothing complicated.
If you are in a battle, try to do your part. Priests need to heal, warriors need to take all the hits as much as possible, mages need to bring the pain at a distance, etc. Don't venture into someone else's territory unless absolutely necessary. This is what makes parties work. Also, if we are in a PvP battle or Raid, attack one person at a time designated by the group leader. 10 people hitting one person kills them in about 5 seconds. 10 people hitting 10 people gets your group dead.
Our mission (along with what was mentioned before) is to have fun! Anyone caught violating this mission of having fun will be kicked out. Smiles on EVERYONE'S faces!
