Its not possible to save a PS1 game on a PS2 card, the games use different formatting. You'll have to use a PS1 memory card. Just by a ps1 card, I think there down to $5 now, put it in your ps2 start your ps1 game and you can save on that card.
I think sony made it so you couldn't save on PS2 card as a way to increase profits...
