My girlfriends older cat will take a few sniffs and scratch her post a little more roughly then sleep for five hours her younger cat will eat, roll and kick at the nip for about 15 minutes then suddenly snap out it and go back to acting like her usual self. The few male cats we have had seem to have much much more of a reaction then the females.
