Make them a wedding album --
Send out questionairres to friends and family -- ask questions about them growing up, shared experiences, schools -- whatever you want. Get the questionairres back to you by a certain date (email would work great for this)
And put together an album for them with all this stuff --
Or make them a video with the same stuff in it -- though I've done the album thing before and it was a huge hit - in fact it's the most requested gift at weddings, anniversaries and milestone birthdays.
Get the moms/aunts/ siblings to supply pictures and either copy them or use the originals (not recommended) and include them as well as the memory of when the pic was taken... Leave some room at the back where they can continue the book on their own for events as a couple - kind of like a to be continued section...
If She's having a fancy wedding, and you know what the bridal colors are, decorate the book cover with those colors - and the somewhere in the book - probably closer tot he to be continued section you want to have acopy of the invitation...
This may sound like an inexpensive gift but there's a lot of time involved in it -- and don't cheap out on the paper - scrapbooking stores sell a lot of things that you can put on the individual pages to decorate as well as stamps and such. This materials for this project, if done well, probably run around 100 dollars or more...(but stamps, fancy scissors and stuff are reusabble)
