When those values are not policy and are not publicly declared however, they have no right to do such things.

If you want the freedom to express yourself freely; to hold to whatever moral beliefs you choose; then you must respect the right for others to do so.
Think about the Constitution. A homophobe has full rights over his property; his business is his property, yes? He therefore can do
whatever he damn well pleases with his business/church/what have you.
You have the right to condemn him publicly for his homophobia.
You have the right to boycott his business.
You have the right to hate him, because he has the right to hate you. You have no right to attempt to make his beliefs illegal, just as he has no right to make your sexual preference illegal.
