I'll be going to this one later today
will we be scared? maybe maybe not... doubtful. C'mon how do you REALLY expect to be scared when you have "prompted it"? I'm sure that more than anything we'll be startled here and there.

Producers Timothy Haskell and Travis Stewart are proud to announce the creation of the city's only, not-for-kids, but for big people, genuinely frightening haunted house, presented by the titular Halloween retail giant “Halloween Adventure Haunted House” in the entire bottom floor of the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center - all 9,000 square feet (located at 107 Suffolk Street between Rivington and Delancey). The chills starts October 21 st , and end on Halloween, October 31 st , running Thursdays – Saturdays from 7 – 12 AM, and Sunday, October 31 st from 7 – 1 AM. Tickets are $20, and $15 for very, very bold 16 year olds and under (not recommended). It is only $5 if you want to go through it again when finished. A new tour starts every 5 minutes starting when the doors open at 7 PM.
PLEASE NOTE that the last signup is at 11:45PM (12:45PM on Oct. 31st) Reservations will not be taken. For more information call 212.946.2098.
Halloween Adventure Haunted House is a 10 room tour of an eclectic mix of nightmarish interactive vignettes, designed by 10 different local NY artists. Each room is completely different than the one before but equally terrifying. The only through line is that each rooms' theme steers clear of iconic Halloween images (i.e Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolves, etc.) that no longer strike fear from merely making an appearance. This Haunted House is geared more towards psychological fear, using more sensory and visceral methods to make one jump out of their pants and afraid of the dark forever. The result is the only significant haunted adventure in New York City!
In early August the producers of The Halloween Adventure Haunted House put out a call for submissions from different artists, designers and theatre companies to design the “scariest room ever!” They were given only one mandate – it had to be something that was sincerely disturbing, shocking and played with the senses. There were nearly 100 submissions, and those were whittled down to the 10 best, and the only thing they have in common is that they're all twisted.
Halloween Adventures Haunted House is more than just the city's only old-fashioned haunted house tour; it is a Halloween experience, the Haunted House being only one element. While waiting to go on the tour in the gallery waiting area there will classic horror movies showing, scary story and poem readings, artist vendors selling everything from pumpkins pies to homemade Halloween costumes, and holiday games like bobbing for brains, and jack-o-lantern carving.
The artists that were selected are: Kass and Schaeffer Horror Division, Red Humour Salon Maura Kelley, Victor and Kim Catano (Under the Sun and Moon), Chivu/ Rauch Productions, 31 Down Radio Theater, Erin Andrea, Aaron and Justin Haskell, Scary Clowns, Inc. and Trav S.D.
