I agree. The war between these 2 has been going on for sooo long, (UN Partition of Palestine, 1947), almost 60 years, that it's hard to even fathom
any transition to peace, nevermind a
smooth one. The fact of the matter is that the Arabs see the creation of Israel as a catastrophe. Arafat exiting stage left isn't going to change this mindset overnight, if ever. Everything depends on the type of Palestinian leadership that comes into power after Arafat.
