hmmm, scary movies......the scene in the exorcist with linda blairs character crawling down the stairs backward made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and i broke out in goose bumps all over.

the mouth of madness was excellent, well crafted psychological horror e.g.; the woman with her husband handcuffed to her ankle naked, later on he turns into a tentacle thing and she is hacking him up with an axe, but it only gives you a quick glimpse.

pyramid of fear (young sherlock holmes) scared the hell out of me when i first saw it at the theatre when i was about 9.
but in recent years, i havent really been scared by movies, silent hill the video game did what no movie could, it was by far, the most disturbing experience brought to me through a visual medium.
Middle of the night, lights off, headphones on, playing the intro where he walks down that alleyway behind the buildings, suddenly it is getting darker, you come across this wheelchair , then a little further on, a hospital gurney with bloodstains on the sheets and an air raid siren going in the background, go through a gate and there is a couple of corpses strung up on the fence, suddenly there are these little midget things with claws attacking you, PANIC STATIONS!!! immersive and di-fucking-sturbing
