Some auto parts stores will reset your light for free. In our area the "Auto Zone" stores will do it as a courtesy.
I have a code reader and use it occasionaly to reset and/or diagnose problems. If memory serves me, the code reader for most 95' and earlier vehicles is pretty reasonable, or under $50. Woud be cheaper than paying the dealer $100, and you would have it next time you need it.
I bought mine on ebay. You might check them out.
