I think that's beautifully done jdionne!
I guess the reason the side surface goes black for a little while is because the light source is top right of the image and therefore the lip casts a shadow. Maybe if the light source was moved to middle right, and re-rendered (if you can be bothered) it would cause less of a black spot. I agree with G.O about cropping the image to cut down on some file size... Great quality though, I'm very impressed!
