Weimeraners (sp?) are very very active. They need more attention and exercise more than Labs do. I prefer Rhodesian Ridgebacks (smart, gentle and bred to hunt lion-meaning very loyal) Labs (preferably black or tan) German Shepherds (their rep is worse than it should be) Now if you want a true working dog a Doberman is the way to go. Dobermans are not guard dogs as many people think. They are workers. They are easily trained and very loyal. For what you want though I'd say the best mix for you would be a Laborador Retriever.
