I kind of like that sentiment myself.
Australia has compulsory voting and whilst that ensures the government cannot be accused of only representing a minority of the people (like what has happened in the US), it also leaves a slightly sour taste in my mouth.
People should be
encouraged to vote. It should be explained to them that it is there civic duty. But I don't really think they should be forced to vote.
Conversely, no one should have their right to vote with-held.
