Consider what type of phone you are going to get. If it is one that they basically 'give' you for signing up, you can probably buy one for $75. or so. If it is a nicer one, those will run at least $150. or so if you have to buy it without buying a plan. Don't think about how much it will cost for two years. Imagine you lose it or drop it in 6 mos. Guess what, you win.
That insurance sounds expensive too, but that's Verizon for you. I pay $3.95 with a $35. deductible.
I have had a cell phone for close to 20 years and have used the insurance probably 5 times.
I have a Treo600 now and you better believe that baby is insured.
