Tom Verducci of SI wrote an online piece about this. ( Sorry I cannot find a link). He said that when you consider Palmeiro's 1400 RBIs, the fact that he is .290 hitter and Palmeiro will probably get 3000 hits before he retires that Palmeiro is almost a lock for the Hall of Fame.
