For football, I'd say Brett Favre is a very fair choice. He's out there on the field week after week, and he does whatever it takes to will his team to win (whether it blows up in his face or not). Everyone talks like he's gonna retire at the end of every season, but it's so hard to imagine this guy deciding never to play football again. Somehow I think he'll stick around for a couple more years, and finish very close to Marino in terms of all-time TD passes.
For baseball, Jeter and Larkin are great picks, I don't know that I could come up with anyone better. Randy Johnson isn't a bad choice.
