I read somewhere that 83% of the world is uncircumsized. The basis for doing it at birth is RELIGOUS, nothing more. There are circumstances where the foreskin needs to be surgically removed, but no doctor can predict that AT BIRTH.
I'm circumsized, but, honestly, I wish I wasn't. I really didn't have a choice in the matter, and that really, really bugs me.
I did not have my son circumsized, mainly because I don't think I should be doing things that don't make sense to me. I can't justify removing part of a body part solely on the basis of something that might happen, and because 'that's just the way we Christian Americans do things around here'.
