Petra had slept the whole night through peacefully for the first time in months. Even the excessive noises of pleasure coming from Draconis and the bleary-eyed ragdoll in the room across the hall did not keep her from going straight to sleep as soon as her head had hit the pillow.
The next morning, sitting quietly over a hot cup of tea waiting for the others to rise, Petra was grateful for the night's rest, knowing it may be the last for awhile.
She had watched Enzeru come down from his room and sit at the bar, but had chosen not to join him there. She felt confused and threatened by the effect his presence had on her, making her less aware of her surroundings, more susceptible, more vulnerable.
When Amarth and Shoan finally came down, Petra finished her tea and joined them at the bar.
