Petra glanced distractedly at Shoan, waiting for a reply. She had been on edge ever since they had been forced to leave their horses behind. Without her faithful stud she felt more vulnerable to the whims and caprices of a vengeful and often cruel Nature. Hopping agilely ahead of the group, she crouched and dropped her ear to the ground, listening. After a few moments, she rose back up and lifted her nose to the air.
Hmm, a fire and... rabbit? Not 5 miles from here...
Petra could sense the turmoil in Shoan's heart and felt something kin to sympathy for the bandit, but before even a flame of compassion could spark within her, she stifled it. She had not allowed herself to feel anything but distrust and cold composure since that day so many years ago...
Turning her thoughts back to the task at hand, Petra spoke up gruffly, interjecting.
"Whether it is this Amarth you speak of or not, we'll be meeting someone within two hours."
