Shoan kicked the rocks at his feet and fidgeted impatiently.
"Hey guys. Do you think we should help him?" He cast a glance up the mountain and a darkness seemed to swirl over it. Just gazing upon it filled his heart with the unwanted emotion of fear. "Nah. He's probably fine." Shoan's voice wavered a bit as he spoke, confidence sapped by the nagging fear in his heart and the effort of lying. He looked away and kicked a few more rocks.
