Agreed.
In the context of this thread the notation of 1/infinity is definitely inappropriate as we get proofs such as this :

Look at it this way:
1/infinity = 0
.9r = 1 - 1/infinity
.9r = 1 - 0
.9r = 1
There is no need for any approximation anywhere, since 1/infinity exactly equals 0.
