RB26dett is a really expensive engine for a 240sx, also a bit of overkill. It'd throw the balance off a hell of a lot, and you would have major traction loss. It'd also, if the 240sx has a similar engine bay size to the silvias here in Oz (presumably they do) it'd be an absolute nightmare to fit the engine in. If you wanted to go the engine conversion path on a 240sx, I'd recommend either the SR20det (probably heard of it already), or an rb20det. The RB20 is bigger than the sr20, and would be a sorta tight fit, but not nearly as bad as the 26. Plus it's a good engine, and you can get a lot of power from them fairly easily. 6 cylinder as well, so you'd have decent low down torque. It'd make the arse end a bit tail happy, but not nearly as bad as the rb26 would, and it'd most likely be a lot cheaper.
Either case, good luck with it.
