10x = 9.9r
10x - x = 9.9r - .9r
9x = 9
x = 1

How on earth do you get 10x=9.9r? If you multiply both sides you get 10x=9r...

And if you added 9x and 9r, well you can't do that. And even if you could, and then divide by 10, you get x=.99r
