Indeed, but the safest distance between two points is not necessarily a straight line. If safety is sacrificed for less distance traveled, it makes sense. This of course depends on whether or not the Kessel run is merely any route traveled between points A and B or a defined route between said points.
It is a sweet case, in either event.
