Board games and card games always occur whenever the family gathers.
Depending on the part of the family, Pinnochle is almost always played.
however, with friends the games, although still analog, get a little strange (e.g: The Great Brain Robbery, Fluxx, Lunch Money, etc)... I just love Cheap-ass games
generally I would prefer playing an analog game with friends than a video game. Just seems more personal.
