Maybe not too scary, but to me very creepy and disturbing was David Cronenberg's "The Fly," especially when Jeff Goldblum is in the process of changing into the fly thing and has sex with that woman. It gave me goosebumps. A very dark movie.
I saw the Exorcist when it was in theaters rereleased a few years back, my first time seeing it, the part with the kid crawling downstairs backwards was pretty frightening. Also the beginning, when it's all loud with the dogs or whatever howling, nothing was even really happening, and it was STILL scary.
