Well the Americans celebrate becuase of the whole deal with Pilgrims and stuff. Us Canadians celebrate the harvest season. It doesnt really apply anymore since now we can pretty much grow anything all year round no matter what the conditions. Like winter wheat and garlic in the winter, rhubarb in the early spring, pumpkins and corn in the fall, and strawberries in the summer. Just to name a very limited list.
