Has anybody listened to
Reveal? There was a picture from one of their concerts on their website that said, "
Reveal changed my life". After seeing that I had to re-listen to the album after quietly putting back in my stack of seldom listened to CDs, ignoring for several months. I was blown away.
Maybe I'm at the point in life where Stipe is and the new songs connect in the same ways that Stipe feels them....I dunno but
Reveal is one hell of an album.
Their new album
Around the Sun is damn close to being even better than Reveal. I recommend to anyone who hasn't listened to R.E.M. in a while to pick up both
Reveal and
Around the Sun and just listen.
If you look at their tour list it's funny to see a much larger time spent in Europe. I don't have cable and rarely listen to the radio but it seems to me that American Music is force fed the crap MTV want viewers to listen to instead of music that may actually mean something to the listener.
